Saturday 30 May 2020 ZHIC Launches A package of Various Community Initiatives, Dr. N. al Tinaiji says A package of various community initiatives launched by ZHIC under the current COVID-19 circumistances
Dr. Nedal al Tinaiji, the General Director of Zayed House for Islamic Culture (ZHIC) related that due to the current state of affairs regarding the spread of COVID-19, all public institutions concerted efforts for remote work and services continuity. ZHIC launched a number of initiatives that would enhance communication amongst community members. Notably, the initiative entitled ‘ZHIC Virtual Board’ to deliver a number of community lectures by a group of academicians and media personnel via Instagram live cast to boost amiability, cooperation and rapport vital to community happiness. Besides, establishing community values conducive to positive energy to improve wellbeing . As part of the initiative ‘Never Mind, Your Rations on Us’  ZHIC distributed parcels to 200 families out of collaboration with its students’ families due to the current COVID-19 circumstances . Moreover, ZHIC organized awareness campaigns under the initiative ‘Committed O Homeland’ casted via ZHIC network channels to raise resident communities’ awareness with regard to health measures against COVID-19.  In addition to 120 health brochures published in 6 international languages to reach to a biggest possible number of community segments. ZHIC networks reflected 114 thousand views in the 45 countries to which the brochures reached . Furthermore, Dr. al Tinaiji added that ZHIC created 4 official pages on Facebook in order to reach Urdu, Mandarin, Tagalog and Amharic communities and raise awareness regarding rules, regulations and measures taken by the UAE to combat COVID-19. In addition, a weekly ‘Cultural Contest’ launched in four languages to reach the target groups and promote ZHIC services, programs and activities. ZHIC also started remote learning lectures in Islamic culture and Qur’an courses in English, Tagalog, Mandarin, Amharic, Russian and French. Added to social, informative, spousal and occupational counselling for the new Muslims and informative sessions for interested persons .
