International Tolerance

Today, tolerance has become an international requisite of an increasing necessity within the particulars of humanitarian, cultural, religious and ethnic communities. As the more values of tolerance spread, the more harmony takes place within communities the world over . Tolerance is indispensable to all vital fields of culture, religion and society and necessary for peace and coexistence that require concerted efforts for broader international fruition.  Especially as international conventions call for international tolerance to be established within communities at large. Particularly the principles adopted by the UNESCO in 1995 in its statement ‘Tolerance is respect, acceptance and appreciation of the rich diversity of our world's cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human’. Thus, tolerance is a conduct that qualifies an individual for international citizenry everywhere .   However, the way to achieve such tolerance springs from one’s own conscience before it establishes through practice and living that it may inevitably collides with different thoughts instinctive in people. God says, ‘And if thy Lord had willed, He verily would have made humankind one nation, yet they cease not differing, Save him on whom thy Lord hath mercy; and for that He did create them. (Hud: 118). Because diversity and difference is part of creation essentially enriching and progressive to humankind . Still, the way to understanding must be paved with wisdom and fraternity immune from violence and discrimination . In fact, the world cultural diversity is an integrated civilization collaborative to meet needs and develop societies regardless of differences. God says ‘And of HIS Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your tongues and colors. In that, surely, are Signs for those who possess knowledge’. (al Room: 22). Reflection on such a diversity should run through the scope of goodness and instructive interaction between people for better coexistence and dignity under the umbrella of human unity that preferably begins with an individual, family and society.  Especially the world today is in more need for peaceful propellers of prosperity, happiness and better life sought by all humans without exception
